Wal-Mart is
attempting to go around SOS clean water restrictions and build a store on the
acquifer, at Slaughter and Mopac.
Due to unanticipated, overwhelming response, a meeting to discuss this has been
moved to Bowie High School. The meeting will be Wednesday, July 2, at 7PM, 4301
Slaughter Lane.
The company proposing the site is Endeavor
Real Estate.
More information is available at NoAquiferBigBox.
There is also information there about the proposed Lowe's in Sunset Valley.
As our tiny neighbor gets most of its drinking water from the aquifer, if this
goes through there's a good chance they will run out!
All neighborhood residents are encouraged to show up and voice your opinions
on the matter.
Come one, come all to our 4th of July Parade!
We'll start at 8:30, on Stearns and Cupid, and walk through the neighborhood, ending up at Monte Siesta for some cool refreshments.
So decorate your bicycle, car, shoes, dog, whatever! Come join us, we'd love to see you!
(If you can't make it, that's OK, just be sure and wave as we go by!)
Meetings are open to any neighborhood resident, or interested party.
