The Big Book Sale

September 22-24, 2000

Volunteers Volunteers Volunteers

We are rapidly approaching the BIG EVENT. September is drawing near and the pace in the basement is increasing, as are the boxes of books. We have found an organization to move the books to the Crockett Center, but WE NEED YOU! Book boxes have to be distributed by subject category and books must be arranged on the tables. With a one day set-up we need lots of folks to help out. You worked wonders at our last sale. Everything was up and ready for the preview sale on Friday evening with time to spare - although some of us could have used the spare time for a massage and shower! It would have cost us an additional $1250.00 to set up on Thursday, money the library could put to better use. As usual, we will need lots of help on Saturday and Sunday collecting money, assisting customers, and keeping the tables fully stocked. Hopefully we will have an easy time with the Sunday clean-up. It is vital that we have everything packed up and out by midnight. I will be calling all my lists asking for your help. If there are new Friends who would like to volunteer, or someone I may have missed in the past, please call me at (512) 453-6186. I look forward to seeing you in September.
