Libraries For the Future Update

The Libraries For the Future Steering Committee continues to meet. The Committee is currently refining the list of groups that will be involved in the 30 focus groups facilitated by the graduate students in the Research Methods Class at the UT Library School. The focus groups will be held early February through May. Maria Poarch, nationally recognized community analyst, primary researcher and project director for One Nation After All and project director for the Community Agenda, is working with the group to develop the focus group questions.

In addition to the focus groups, there will be a telephone survey, intercept surveys at all Library locations, and interview with community leaders. The result of all this data gathering will be a report with a wish-list that goes forward to the Austin City Council and a Strategic Master Plan for the Austin Public Library.
