Volunteer of the Year Award
This year's Volunteer of the Year Award goes to Lillian and Merritt Voss. These folks have been mainstays on the basement crew for several years; however, we do let them out to help with other things occasionally. Lil writes those happy missives from the basement, serves as board secretary, and is responsible for getting those great tote bags. Merritt does a lot of shifting, filling, and toting of the book boxes in preparation for the sale. The knees did give out for a while last year, but a little corrective surgery fixed him up. They both spent the long book sale weekend camped out in the Palmer Auditorium basement ensuring that the customers had a ready supply of books on the tables and straightening up the mess that some people leave after trying to find one particular book to purchase. The presentation of the award was made at the Volunteer Appreciation Party held at the Zilker Club House. Congratulations and thanks for all your hard work.
