President's Message
The Book Sale! The Book Sale! It's coming! It's coming! Get ready! Get ready! The basement crew has been working flat out to get the books ready for the move to the Crockett Center. We've got a tremendous selection of just about everything imaginable in books, records, tapes, CDs, VCRs; even some computer software, better than ever. Connie Moore has oiled her volunteer Rolodex and sharpened her number 2 pencil, so be prepared for a call. Better yet, call her at 453-6186 and reserve your favorite time. Remember that we need lots of help on Friday to get set up before the members night sale. Kim Lindros (250-0105) and Phyllis Todaro (453-7888) will have posters, book marks, and flyers ready in August for distribution. They need to be distributed to businesses, recreation centers, and schools. If you can help, give them a call. We need to plaster the city.
This year's sale is especially important to the library as the city is giving short thrift on the annual budget. The library is expecting across-the-board cuts in funding for people and services. The money from the book sale provides some welcome assistance and while we cannot expect to make up the shortfall, we can go a long way in helping with some programs. The fact that we are there helping is a morale boost to the staff.
