ASPA, established in 1939, is the largest and most prominent, professional association in the field of public administration. With a diverse membership composed of more than 12,000 practitioners, teachers and students, ASPA has emerged as the focal point for intellectual and professional interaction, thereby serving as the principal arena for linking thought and practice within the field of public administration.
Local Chapters provide public administrators the opportunity to meet people from their neighborhood, city or county. Frequent lectures, luncheons, and conferences keep members up to date on what's going on in the local public administration community. Membership in a local chapter is included in your membership.
Sections provide a forum for the expertise of administrators working in the same field. ASPA offers 19 national special-interest sections addressing issues such as health and human services, budgeting and financial management, public administration research, law and public administration and many others. A separate fee is required for section membership.
National Conferences allow public administrators a chance to discuss the challenges confronting the field and society. ASPA's National Conference provides you with a multitude of opportunities to gain practical information, to listen and to discuss the latest research and make valuable professional contacts while doing so.
