Web Buddies

We are most interested in volunteers that are willing to spend a focused 10 or 12 hours over a two, or three week period developing a web site. Then taking on the routine maintenance of the site while the organization comes up to speed on managing it for them selves.

As a Web buddy, you will:

meet with the organization and develop a design plan,

develop the site,

review it with the organization,

and then publish.

MAIN will offer training to the organization on how to maintain web content and use FTP. While maintaining their site, you will supplement the MAIN training by answering any questions the organization has. Over time, the organization should become proficient in managing their own content and you will gradually let go of the project.

You are welcome to sign up for more than one client organization. By staggering the initial development push it is possible for someone to maintain several sites. Its really up to you. MAIN does ask that our Web Buddy volunteers attend a short training session. The training focuses on bringing you up to speed about how MAIN operates and discussing some design standards. We expect these ( one time) sessions will be held on a Saturday for between one and two hours.
