October 2001

We had 16 attend the October 3, luncheon at Luby's and everyone
had a wonderful time.  Those attending were: Beverly Gilbert, Ed and Pat
Borofsky, Bob Hensley, Roger and Laura Swift, Virgie Tucker, Jeanne Paul,
Dick Doerner, Bill and Nancy Allen, Jerry Carman, Riley and Becky Sue Foyil,
and Beryl and Lydia Ford.

Ed and Pat Borofsky, again, drove over from Rogers, Arkansas and Ed drove
all the way.  As you know Ed has bone cancer but he has not let it get him down.
he gets his last chemo treatment this month and we all are praying that he is in
remission.  Beryl Ford had extensive surgery for colon cancer but has done
extremely well and is back at work.  He does have to go back for a little more
surgery to make his incision stronger.

We are all pleased to know that Jo Ann (Perry) Huffman is some better these
days.  She has had, and is having, a battle with breat cancer, has had surgery
and is going for chemo and radiation treatments shortly.  Jo Ann was extremely
sick for a long time and it is wonderful to have her up and about some now.
She still is not able to come to the luncheons but we will all be thrilled and
and happy when she can return and we hope it is real soon.  She has
to get better so she can lead the Class in the 60th reunion.  As you all
know Jo Ann has been our Class Chairperson for about 15 years and,
as I have said before has done an excellent job for the Class. 
We love you Jo Ann.  And of course Bill too.

Becky Sue Foyil went to a plastic surgeon and he said there is nothing
he could do for her mouth as he could not repair the nerve that was cut
during the surgery on her artery under her left side of her neck.
She was very disappointed but is feeling better now.

Try to come to the next luncheon next. month.   We have a great
time reminiscing about the old school days and a lot of other "stuff."
