STATE COMPTROLLER OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTS
In celebration of Black History Month, the Black American Comptroller Employees (BACE) is having a lunch time presentation on, "Texas African-American Libraries Before Desegregation."
The speaker will be Dr. Irene Owens from the UT School
of Information. The meeting will be at the LBJ State Office Building, 111 E. 17th
Street, Room 114 (1st Floor) in Austin. This brown bag lunch meeting is from noon
to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2003. After Dr. Owens' presentation, there
will be a reception and tour in the Information Technology Division, Technical
Library, Room 1104. Home made goodies will be served.
Attendees can
park at the Texas State Visitors Parking Lot at the Capitol Visitors Parking Garage
located between 13th and 12th, Trinity and San Jacinto Streets. Parking is free
for the first two hours and $.75 for each half hour thereafter (maximum charge:
$6.00). Metered spaces are available throughout the complex.
