The Arc of the Capital Area
Founded by parents who were concerned about the exclusion of their children with mental retardation from public schools. Also assists individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages and their families to realize all rights and opportunities for full participation as members of the community.

Austin Area Human Services Association (AAHSA)

Texas Adoption Resource Exchange
Features profiles of Texas children who are waiting for adoptive placement. The Exchange is published by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (PRS) and distributed to adoption agencies and organized parent support groups throughout the country.

Texas Advocates for Special-needs Kids (TASK)
To advocate for our children and to serve as a source of information and education. TASK represents the consumers who are parents of children with special needs.

Texas Association of Lisenced Children's Services
TALCS is an association of non-profit voluntary children's service agencies. TALCS provides a forum for providers of children in the child welfare system to have a collective voice for legislation; TDPRS regulations and guidelines; and child advocacy.

Texas Baptist Children's Home
Provides distinctive, quality care and related services to children and families in crisis. Their focus is to meet the physical, emotional, social, educational and spiritual needs of children without regard for race, religion, social or economic status.

Texas Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
Advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system through the development, growth and support of local CASA programs. In addition, Texas CASA seeks to raise public and governmental awareness about community issues concerning abused and neglected children.
