History

The Capital City Chamber of Commerce was established in July 1982 by a small group of African-American busines men and women as a private, no-profit business organization for the purpose of assisting businesses in East Austin expand and realize their economic potential. They believed there was a void in the African-American business community and that working together to improve the economy would increase opportunities for creation, expansion and retention of minority business enterprises.

Mission

Capital City Chamber of Commerce strives to promote and support minority businesses for the economic development, creation of collective wealth and education of the Austin community. In our efforts to share information about entrepreneurship and business enterprise, we focus on African-Americans, Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women owned Business Enterprises (WBEs) and other minorities.

Benefits

The Chamber serves as a source for its members by providing information and assistance on a wide range of issues. Additionally, all employees of member firms are eligible to participate in Chamber programs and workshops.
