Information for Artists

    There are many Austin resources for actors, artists, dancers, and performers.  We suggest you contact the following organizations:

Professional Associations:

• Austin Visual Arts Association (AVAA) provides services, workshops and a newsletter relevant to visual artists.
• Austin Circle of Theatres (ACOT) provides services, workshops, and a newsletter relevant to actors and performers and choral groups.  512-499-8388
• Artists' Legal and Accounting Assitance of Austin (ALAA) provides volunteers who give free legal and accounting services.   512-407-8980
• Dance Umbrella (DU) provides services, workshops and newsletters relevant to dancers and choereographers.
• Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) provides grants and technical supports to Texas Cultural Artists and organizations.

    In addition there are some local organizations that specialize in working with artists with disabilities:

• The Marnie Paul Arts Center offers classes and workshops for people with developmental disabilities.
• Imagine Art provides financial allowances for art supplies, exhibition fees, classes, and personalized support in accessing the arts community for artists with any kind of disability.
